The company will also introduce new contactless terminals.

NLEX Corporation announced that it will further improve its toll road services by installing more upgraded RFID scanners this year. This can help fast-track toll gate transactions, which is crucial as there were more than 119 million motorists who passed through North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) in 2021.

With the project now locked in, this will be is a follow-up to NLEX Corporation’s upgraded RFID scanners deployed last year. “It is imperative for us to serve our customers well. We are innovating and adapting accordingly to improve our operation so we can provide customers with a quick and seamless experience both in our expressways and digital channels,” said NLEX Corporation President and General Manager J. Luigi L. Bautista.

A faster toll road transaction can be expected in the upcoming years

As for this year, NLEX Corporation revealed that 29 toll gates will be equipped with enhanced scanners, while another 50 toll lanes will be featuring the new contactless terminals. With the new toll system, motorists can simply tap their Easytrip RFID card to pass through the gates.

Upon completion, a total of 217 toll lanes will be installed with the RFID early detection system. Also, 258 toll lanes will be equipped with the new contactless terminals. All these are part of the company’s initiative to provide only the best services to traversing motorists, as well as keeping them safe on the road.

The plan of installing upgraded RFID scanners isn’t the only significant project NLEX Corporation has in store for 2022. Earlier this year, the company announced its expansion plans which can improve its overall services. Some of these projects include the completion of NLEX C5 Link Mindanao Avenue-Quirino Highway Section, the Candaba third viaduct, and the NLEX Connector.
