The capable-looking concept van will debut at the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon.

Nissan will be heading to the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon with several very interesting concept cars. One that particularly caught our eye is a heavily modified sixth-generation Urvan that’s designed to function as a heavy-duty mobile disaster support vehicle.

Appropriately named the Disaster Support Mobile-Hub concept, not much is known about it, for now. But it is pretty obvious that it is kitted out with a lift kit, all-terrain tires, and a ladder-accessible roof rack. It also gets protective bits like a sturdy-looking tube bumper and a matte-black plastic body finish for its front and rear quarter panels.

We can imagine that this rig will be fun to take out in the boonies as a light off-roading overland vehicle. But more importantly, it perfectly fits the bill as a disaster response command center.

It is equipped with Nissan LEAF batteries

By virtue of being a van, it has ample space for lugging around communications equipment, relief goods, and search and rescue tools, among others. It even gets the ability to power the aforementioned equipment thanks to its onboard batteries taken from the Nissan LEAF.

Apart from the very capable-looking Urvan concept vehicle, Nissan will also debut other interesting rides at the Tokyo Auto Salon. Of particular note are the X-Trail Crawler Concept which is designed to go off-road, the e-4ORCE 04 Formula-E race car, as well as the fashionable-looking Roox Beams Customized and the March Customized Concept cars.

Two Autech Sports Spec vehicles will also be displayed. These two are based on the X-Trail and the Serena minivan, and they get visual and mechanical enhancements.

Last but not least is the Nismo lineup which includes the GT-R, Fairlady Z (400z), and the Skyline. All of these are the latest Nismo variants, and they highlight the brand’s achievements in producing high-performance cars over the years.
