Facelifted 2021 Nissan Terra spotted again in Thailand – is the Philippines next?

The new Terra looks a lot tougher.

The 2021 Nissan Terra facelift debuted in the Middle East late last year and is called the X-Terra. With its new and more muscular design updates, it is more likely that many car buyers in the country would love to get their hands on the facelifted model as well.

Luckily, there is another sighting of the new Nissan Terra facelift in Thailand that was posted on the Nissan Terra Philippines Forum by a member named Win Molina. The first sighting of the Nissan Terra facelift in Thailand was days before the end of last year.

This is significant because it means that the facelifted Nissan Terra could soon find its way into the Philippine market. Usually, once a new car model debuts in our ASEAN neighbor Thailand, the Philippines will follow.

The photo shared on the Facebook group only shows the rear end of the Nissan Terra while some parts of the vehicle are covered. It suggests that the Thai-spec Nissan Terra is getting new LED taillights, an inverted V trim that connects both the taillights, and more aggressive body lines.

Most of the notable changes of the facelifted Terra which was first seen in the Middle East are made on the front such as a larger and wider V-motion grille, sleeker LED headlights, larger daytime running lights (DRL) housing, and a new bumper that provide a more rugged SUV-like appeal as compared to the outgoing model.

In the Middle East, the Nissan Terra facelift is offered with a gasoline and diesel engine option. However, Nissan Philippines will likely only offer the upcoming PH-spec Nissan Terra with the same 2.5-liter diesel engine to make it more competitive in the seven-seater midsize SUV segment.

Both Nissan Thailand and the Philippines are still mum about their plans for the Terra facelift. But when sightings like this occur, one can expect that is it only a matter of time before the updated seven-seater SUV makes its regional debut in the Southeast Asian markets.
