They’re essentially the “Pro-4X lite” variants.

Nissan has provided a couple of updates for the Navara in Thailand. Among these are the all-new Navara Black Edition as well as some updates for the said truck’s advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

The Nissan Navara Black Edition and the Nissan Pro-4X

For the new Nissan Navara Black Edition, the Japanese car brand essentially gives the non-Pro-4x double-cab and single-cab versions a similar macho-looking style. Specifically, this new variant features black-colored decals on its side, and black trim pieces all around.

The said trim pieces include its front lower bumper, front grille, side mirror molding, door handles, tailgate handle, and over fenders. Of note, the regular versions instead come with a fair bit of chrome.

The Navara Black Edition’s interior trim pieces were likewise provided with a black color as well. Among these are its door armrests, door trims, among others.

Besides the Black Edition variants, Nissan also found a way to beef up Nissan Intelligent driver assist mobility kit that is present on the top-spec variants. It now features a new Intelligent Lane Intervention system, which ensures that the pickup truck will stay inside a lane.

Also new is the Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention system which allows the vehicle to automatically apply braking force to help return to the original lane to avoid a collision.

The said feature of course, will then work together with the Nissan Navara’s existing driver-assist features especially its blind-spot warning system and lane departure warning system.

Apart from that, Nissan also gave the top-spec PRO-4X for Thailand an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, which of course allows for more ease of adjustability.

Of note, the Black Edition trims and the Navara for the 2022 model year in general still use the same 2.5-liter turbodiesel that powers the regular variants. At maximum, it can make up to 187 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. It also gets a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed automatic gearbox depending on the variant.

Price-wise, the 2022 Nissan Navara Black Edition starts at around 884,000 Baht for the double-cab versions. That’s around Php 1,354,000 at current exchange rates.

There’s also no word yet from Nissan Philippines whether the Navara Black Edition will get a local launch anytime soon. So for now, the Black Edition versions of the Nissan Navara is only available in the Land of Smiles.

We are quite hopeful though, that the new updates, specifically the Blind-spot intervention system and power-adjustable seats, will eventually reach our market soon.
