Nissan Philippines said that the Kicks e-Power variants (EL, VE, and VL) sold from August 2022 onwards are qualified for the extended battery warranty for eight years or 150,000 kilometers whichever comes first. As a review, the Nissan Kicks e-Power was first introduced in the Philippines in August 2022 with three variant options, which are the EL, VE, and VL.

The extended lithium-ion battery warranty for the Kicks e-Power also shows Nissan Philippines’ confidence in the quality and reliability of its products. Nissan PH president Juan Manuel Hoyos added that the eight-year battery warranty is a “testament on how we listen to our customers' needs and to our commitment towards electrified mobility.”

Nissan PH believes that the extended warranty is a step towards enhancing customer satisfaction and solidifying its position in the electrified vehicle market. Aside from the eight-year battery warranty, Nissan PH is also offering five years or 150,000 kilometers vehicle warranty for the Kicks’ mechanical, electrical, and e-Power system.

The Kicks subcompact crossover is equipped with Nissan’s e-Power technology that comprises an electric motor, a lithium-ion battery, and a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder gasoline engine. The total power output is rated 134 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque. This power is sent exclusively to the front wheels via a single-speed gear reduction transmission.

The e-Power is a 100 percent electric motor-driven system, which delivers power directly to the wheels. The gasoline engine, on the other hand, charges the battery pack that gives juice to the electric motor.

There is no mechanical link between the engine and the wheels. Think of it this way: the electric motor uses the stored energy from the battery pack, which makes the Kicks a 100 percent electric motor-driven vehicle. Then, the main task of the gasoline engine is to charge the battery pack when necessary (much like how a power bank for mobile phones works). As such, the Nissan Kicks e-Power eliminates range anxiety.
