The all-new Nissan Altima 2019 looks incredibly stunning.

Last year, the competition among Japanese midsize sedans was set on fire by the heated-up Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. They have made worldwide car enthusiasts scream for their attractive and outstanding designs which surpass most of the other contenders on the market.

Unfortunately, those days are gone because Nissan has officially jumped into the fight and give all rival serious challenge with the launch of the all-new Nisan Altima 2019 at New York International Motor Show 2018.

To begin with, the 6th-gen Nissan Altima shows some certain similarities to the Nissan Vmotion 2.0 Concept which won an admirable award at the 2017 North American International Auto Show - being the Best Concept Vehicle. The Japanese carmaker stated that the car concept would showcase the new face of Nissan midsize sedan.

Let’s see that statement clearer with the Altima 2019 design. In general, the Altima 2019 is wider, longer and lower than the previous Nissan Altima for sale. It is now sportier thanks to the reducing in its engines’ size, offering more space for the new cow; and hood line. Additionally, the front overhang is also lessened, the rear wheels are placed father to the corners while the wheel now measures 19-inch, showing a sportier appearance.

The Altima 2019 receives more sophistication in the cabin with more refined matte accents and fewer chrome embellishments. It is equipped with a standard 7-inch Advanced Drive Assist Display, along with an 8’’ center color display with multi-touch control on the dashboard’s center. An Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are also available. The dashboard area now comes with wood finisher to bring more premium feel for the car users.

The 2019 Altima gets Nissan Intelligent Mobility which is also used in the Leaf. One of the most noticeable features is a single-lane “hand-on” driving assistance tech dubbed the ProPILOT Assist. This tech can help the driver to reduce the amount of time for braking, steering, accelerating under certain driving conditions like driving on single-lane highways.

Under the hood, the all-new 2019 Altima is powered by an all-new Variable Compression Turbo (VC-Turbo) engine which comes to be the first variable compression ratio mill produced in the world. The VC-Turbo’s compression ratio will be continuously adjusted to optimize the car’s efficiency and power, ranging between 14:1 (for high efficiency) and 8:1 (for high performance).

The 2.0L VC-Turbo mill is capable of cranking out 248 hp and 370 Nm of torque, which is at the same level of the previous Altima’s 3.5L V6 engine. Besides, the 2019 Nissan Altima is also offered an option of a new standard 2.5L engine doling out 188 hp and 244 Nm of torque. Both powertrains work in a conjunction with a revamped Xtronic transmission.
