The Mitsubishi Xpander has shown significant sales numbers in the country since it replaced the Adventure in the local lineup last 2018. As for this year, the MPV is competing with the Mitsubishi L300 at the top spot with 7,692 units sold from January to September 2021.
New Mitsubishi Xpander Black Series
Now that we are in the closing months of 2021, Mitsubishi Motor Corporation Philippines (MMPC) wants to further expand the range of the Xpander to reach more car buyers. To do just that, the Japanese automaker introduced the new Mitsubishi Xpander 2021 Black Series, which sits in between the Xpander Cross and GLS.
The Mitsubishi Xpander Black Series brings nothing but new styling that outlines an all-black layout. At the front, the new variant is installed with a black front grille, black lower front bumper and fog light bezel, and black dynamic shield garnish. These replace the chrome trim found on the rest of the trim.
An Xpander of its own
Moving to the sides, the Black Series shares the same 16-inch wheels of the GLS except that the ones in the new variant are finished in black. And lastly, Mitsubishi added a black lower bumper at the rear end of the Japanese MPV, completing the all-black design of the Xpander Black Series.
Carried over features include a 7-seating configuration, 1.5-liter MIVEC engine with 4-speed automatic transmission, and a 7-inch infotainment system with Mirror Link feature which is patched to six speakers. As for safety, the Black Series is equipped with front SRS airbags, an anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), and ISOFIX.
“The new Xpander Black Series is developed to rejuvenate excitement towards our number 1 selling MPV. The Xpander remains to be a very important product in our vehicle line up and we at MMPC are geared to consistently enhance its offerings to cater to the various demands of the market. With the black series, the Xpander presents a more sophisticated look,” said MMPC President and CEO Mr. Takeshi Hara.
The PH-spec Xpander is now offered in four variants
MMPC is offering the Mitsubishi Xpander Black Series with a price tag of Php 1,138,000. It can be finished in either Black Jet Mica for that complete blacked-out appearance or Quartz White Pearl to create an appealing contrast design-wise.
