Goodyear Assurance MaxGuard SUV tires claim to give superior grip

Goodyear claims the new tires perform better than competitors.

In the market for family vehicles, car buyers tend to choose crossovers/SUVs over sedans these days despite their more expensive price tags. For them, a larger vehicle provides more space where the family can comfortably be in on long road trips. It also benefits from a more rigid build and generally offers more safety features.

Goodyear Philippines wants to further support the ever-growing SUV market with the launching of its new Assurance MaxGuard SUV. The Goodyear Assurance MaxGuard SUV is designed to provide SUVs with superior grip, better handling, shorter braking distance even on wet roads, quieter tire noise, and a more comfortable driving experience.

According to the tire manufacturer, the Assurance MaxGuard SUV comes with ActiveGrip Technology and DuraGuard Technology to improve wet grip and durability. Also, the tread depth distribution and tire footprint are enhanced so the new tires can deliver longer mileage.

These are what Goodyear's new tire offers

Data was provided through a comparison between the Assurance MaxGuard SUV and its predecessors, the Wrangler Triplemax, so consumers can have a basis when considering this tire. Here are the following improvements as per Goodyear:

  • Wet braking by 17 percent
  • Wet handling by 25 percent
  • Treadwear by 28 percent
  • ECE noise by more than 2dB
  • Interior noise by four percent
  • Rolling resistance by 11 percent

In addition, Goodyear boasts that the Assurance MaxGuard SUV performs better as compared to its competitors based on its tests. It is two percent better in wet braking, 40 percent better in treadwear, 0.7 dB lower in ECE noise, seven percent better in interior noise suppression, and two percent better in dry braking.

“We are excited to introduce Assurance MaxGuard SUV to midsize SUV drivers in Asia Pacific. We know most of these drivers are family-oriented safety seekers looking for a solution that suits both their safety and comfort needs equally,” said Goodyear Asia Pacific President Nat Madarang.

The target vehicles include midsize SUVs such as the Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Montero Sport. Goodyear Philippines is making the new tires available in 15 to 18 inches of rim diameters in a total of 18 sizes.
