Overall, the black sketch shows a vague appearance of the new two-seat roadster, in which one that piques our interest is the bodywork behind the passenger compartment. This detail makes the new Z4 look like a targa rather than an iconic roadster as the old Z4. However, the car, admittedly, receives a classic BMW Z recipe with two seats, short rear deck, pointy nose, long hood and low stance. Actually, it quite resembles the original Z1.

In comparison with the Z4 we’ve seen on test mule, the silhouette of the car in this rendering is subtly different. Specifically, the whole car looks lower and sleeker and the front end is much sharper. Thus, it’s highly likely that the car showcased at Pebble would be some sort of the Z4 Concept.

The next-gen BMW Z4 will sit on a sports car chassis jointly designed by both BMW and Toyota. This means it will become a mechanical sibling to the much-awaited Toyota Supra. Likewise, it will be rear-wheel drive and available in 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder trim levels.

Anyway, “find out what’s happening at Pebble Beach on August 17th”.
