The rainy season is challenging enough for those who don’t own a private vehicle, especially during rush hours when public transportation is limited. But the people at Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) devised a promo for that matter with its extended ‘Downpour Deals.’
Mitsubishi Mirage
The ‘Downpour Deals’ promo offers enticing all-in down payment (DP) deals on MMPC’s vehicles including the Mitsubishi Mirage hatchback. Up for grabs until the end of July, the Japanese hatchback is available with an all-in DP deal for as low as Php 28,000 for its top-of-the-line GLX CVT variant.
With an SRP (suggested retail price) of Php 772,000, the Mitsubishi Mirage GLX CVT is equipped with a 6.75-inch touch screen monitor and two speakers. The system comes with Mirror Link Feature for seamless connectivity, providing on-road entertainment on rainy traffic days.
It boasts efficiency and practicality
Powering the hatchback is a 1.2-liter inline-4 MIVEC gasoline engine capable of generating 77 horsepower and 100 Nm of torque. It sends power exclusively to the front wheels via an INVECS-III CVT (continuously variable transmission). This type of transmission that is generally considered fuel-efficient, an advantage in today's era of soaring fuel prices.
The all-in DP is based on a 20-percent down payment with 60 months of amortization which is subject to bank approval. As part of the all-in deal, the Mirage comes with a 3-year LTO registration, 1-year comprehensive insurance, and a chattel mortgage. Plus, you get to support the Filipino workforce as the model is assembled locally.

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines is fielding the Mirage in the subcompact hatchback category. From the original lineup of four variants across two trim levels, the Mirage currently has a single GLX trim, available with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a continuously variable transmission. Both route power to the front wheels from a 1.2-liter 3A92 3-cylinder gasoline engine with MIVEC technology.
The Mirage measures 3,795mm long, 1,665mm wide, and 1,500mm high, on a wheelbase of 2,450mm. Mitsubishi Mirage prices in the Philippines range between Php 704,000 and Php 765,00. Customers can avail of the GLX manual variant for as low as Php 8,485 with a 50-percent downpayment and 60-month loan contract. Among the Mirage’s competitors are the Toyota Wigo, Honda Brio, Suzuki Swift, Suzuki Celerio, Kia Picanto, and the Chevrolet Spark.
