MG PH offers prices exclusive of DTI’s safeguard duty

Updated Jul 12, 2021 | Same topic: Automotive Industry Updates

It will last until May 15 only.

Many car brands have complied with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)’s safeguard duty that adds Php 70,000 to imported passenger vehicles. MG Philippines, on the other hand, decided not to impose the tax on its lineup’s suggested retail price (SRP) until May 15, 2021.

This means that MG vehicles offered in the local market will retain their current price tags. The British-bred car brand said that it will cover the provisional safeguard measures to provide customers with a more affordable payment scheme without additional fees.

“We are happy to share that TCCCI will continue to support the motoring needs of the market by not collecting an additional fee to cover the Safeguard Measure Bond as issued by the DTI. We would like to continue providing our clients with affordable offers by retaining the current standard prices on all MG models and variants until May 15, 2021,” said MG Philippines President and CEO Atty. Alberto B. Arcilla.

“As the local economy and industry continue to recover and strengthen, MG Philippines remains committed to giving Filipinos access to well designed, safe, attainable, and modern mobility solution,” Atty. Arcilla added.
