Mazda Philippines rolled out a new variant for the BT-50 pickup truck with the Black Edition.
Mazda BT-50 4x2 Black Edition
The Mazda BT-50 4x2 Black Edition follows the introduction of the Pangolin Edition 2 last November 2022. Based on the mid-spec BT-50 4x2 AT variant, the new edition comes with a sporty appeal thanks to the addition of black accents.
Exterior-wise, the three-dimensional signature wing grille received a high-gloss black finish flanked by LED front lighting. It is complemented by new 17-inch gloss black alloy wheels wrapped in 255/65 R17 highway-terrain tires.
It comes with a black treatment inside and out
Available exterior colors are Ice White, Ingot Silver Metallic, Concrete Gray Mica, Rock Gray Mica, Red Volcano Mica, and Gun Blue Mica.
Other exterior bits include power folding side mirrors, side step boards, a bedliner, and a new tailgate assist for easier loading and unloading of cargo.
The seats come with a combination of black and gray
Inside, the black theme continues, with the seats getting bespoke black leather with gray accents and contrast stitching. To make the interior feel more exclusive, the front headrests are embossed with the “Black Edition” logo. Moreover, the steering wheel gets a black leather treatment.
The cabin is installed with a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and six speakers. In terms of safety, the vehicle has dual SRS airbags, anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control with traction control, and hill descent control, among others.
The Black Edition package is carried over into the interior
The Mazda BT50 Black Edition is powered by a 3.0-liter inline-4 turbodiesel engine also found in the Isuzu D-Max. It is capable of generating 187 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. A 6-speed automatic transmission is used to send power from the engine to the rear wheels only.
“After the launch and success of the Mazda BT-50 4x4 Pangolin Edition 2, we listened to customer feedback and decided to offer a value-oriented package for the BT-50 4x2, befitting Mazda’s premium positioning,” said Mazda Philippines President and CEO Steven Tan.
The BT-50 Black Edition comes out as a sportier-looking truck
The Black Edition package comes as a factory-installed, no-cost option for the first 50 customers at Php 1,430,000. It is also offered with a 5-year free service plan and a 3-year bumper-to-bumper warranty.
