If your car’s plate number ends in 6 or 7, then we’ve got some good news for you. As per the Land Transportation Office’s (LTO) post on its official Facebook page, cars with plate numbers ending with the aforementioned numbers will now have extended validity of registration.
To be specific, the registration for cars with plate numbers ending in 6 will now be valid until August 31, 2021. Meanwhile, the registration for cars with plate numbers ending in 7 is valid until September 30, 2021.
Hopefully, that's enough time for motorists who got caught up during the quarantine
On that note, LTO also says that cars with plates ending with the said numbers are no longer subject to surcharges and penalties provided they register on the deadlines as indicated on the announcement.
Apart from the extended validity of registration, the LTO has also extended the validity of the LTO issued Student Permits, Driver’s Licenses, and Conductor’s Licenses until September 30, 2021. This covers licenses that have expired during the length of the quarantine period.
The LTO is also reminding those visiting their branches to observe the proper health and safety protocols as well as social distancing.
Moreover, those looking to renew their car’s registrations are directed to still follow the weekly schedule as indicated by the second to the last digit of the plate number. This of course will ensure that the branches’ social distancing rules are not compromised.
For those unaware, here are is the LTO car registration schedule based on the 2nd to the last digit on your car’s plate number:
