Tiny Toyota Land Cruiser 300 replica emerges in China

Tired of the long Land Cruiser waitlist? This could be the answer.

While copycat car models are not new to our eyes, it is still fun to see how these productions turn out. This is especially true if the vehicle copies the iconic Toyota Land Cruiser.

In a series of photos posted on the Chinese social media website Weibo, it appears that someone has built a Toyota Land Cruiser replica. What’s so special about this is that it gets a smaller body, while still bearing the same front design. A miniature, baby version if you will.

The front fascia is similar to the current Land Cruiser J300 generation. Even the number of horizontal slats on the grille and air intakes is the same despite being scaled down. What makes it different from the real Land Cruiser is its logo, which reads “Kuluze” on the tailgate.

We don’t know a lot about this company. But our guess is that this replica could be a school project made by engineering students.

To gain further clues as to where this tiny Land Cruiser is from, we translated the caption from the social media website post. It reads: “The domestic LC300 is offline!” That said, this doesn’t really help much in providing more information about the vehicle.

From the pictures of the Kuluze Land Cruiser, we also see that its interior comes with two front seats with safety belts and a steering wheel. This might mean that the vehicle could at least be capable of moving. As of this writing, however, no specifications for the vehicle have been provided.

Another peculiar Toyota-based creation is the RAV4 limo. As the name suggests, the Toyota RAV4 limo is not compressed like the Land Cruiser but stretched. Thanks to the additional 813 mm of extra space in the rear, the vehicle comes with seven doors and a cabin with a proper table.

The common thing between these two automotive creations is that they won’t likely see the production line. But if Kuluze, or whoever made it ever decided to bring the replica to life, this could be a faster way to get your hands on a Land Cruiser. Sure, it's not the real thing, but do remember that the actual Toyota-made SUV currently has quite a long waitlist that lasts for years.
