For Jaguar Land Rover, the British car company tapped NVIDIA to develop next-generation automated driving systems, as well as AI-enabled services. NVIDIA is a tech company that has a reputable name in the technology market, particularly in the PC gaming world, with its high-performing computer systems.
“Jaguar Land Rover will become the creator of the world’s most desirable luxury vehicles and services for the most discerning customers. Our long-term strategic partnership with NVIDIA will unlock a world of potential for our future vehicles as the business continues its transformation into a truly global, digital powerhouse,” said Jaguar Land Rover CEO Thierry Bolloré.
The collaboration seeks to build Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles with the NVIDIA DRIVE software-defined platform. Some of the features will include a wide array of active safety bits, automated driving, parking systems, and driver assistance systems.
2025 is an exciting year for the British car brand
Luxury vehicles designed by the concerned car brands such as the Land Rover Range Rover and Jaguar I-Pace are expected to feature the NVIDIA DRIVE software-defined platform. This is a fitting direction especially for Jaguar as the company announced that it will offer an all-electric lineup by 2025.
And by 2039, Jaguar Land Rover aims to achieve net-zero carbon emissions across its supply chain, products, and operations. The partnership with NVIDIA is one of the early steps the British car company is taking to achieve that sustainable goal.
“Next-generation cars will transform automotive into one of the largest and most advanced technology industries. Fleets of software-defined, programmable cars will offer new functionalities and services for the life of the vehicles,” said NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang.
