Yep, Nathan Drake drives a Hyundai.

If you’ve been keeping up with global automotive news, then you’ll know by now that the fourth-generation NX4 Hyundai Tucson is already out in select markets.  To further show its capabilities to the world though, a heavily modified version of the Korean-made crossover will make a major appearance in Sony’s Uncharted (2022) adventure film.

The Hyundai Tucson Beast concept

It’s called the Tucson “Beast” concept, and it is a beefier version of the said crossover. For starters, it rides on a set of Nitto all-terrain tires, and its front end is protected by a bull bar. It also features LED bars, a snorkel, a roof rack, and bolt-on fenders, as well as a suspension lift.

The Tucson Beast concept vehicle was the brainchild of California-based Hyundai Design team, together with Sony Pictures. And at a glance, it looks like it is ready to take on whatever challenge you can throw at it.

In the film, the tougher-looking version of the fourth-gen Tucson will be used by Nathan Drake (Tom Holland), a treasure hunter hired by Victor “Sully” Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) to find Ferdinand Magellan’s long-lost treasure. Stepping in to foil their plans is Moncada (Antonio Banderas), a ruthless treasure hunter who believes that he is the rightful heir to Magellan’s lost fortune.

The said film is based on the highly regarded “Uncharted” series of video games developed by Naughty Dog. So for those who have played these games, then you’ll definitely know that Drake will indeed need something as tough as the Tucson Beast.

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson also appeared in several promotional materials featuring Tom Holland’s character. One example of this is a 60-second commercial dubbed “Car Wash” which you can view below:
