The automaker has been supporting the program since 2008.

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has always been one with the Filipino community. The latest initiative of the company is its support for the “Brigada Eskwela: Tugon sa Hamon ng Ligtas na Balik Aral” program.

The program aims to ensure safety in schools now that the resumption of face-to-face classes could be just around the corner. HCPI supported the program by providing essential health and medical supplies such as non-contact thermal scanners, disinfectants, and medical supplies to Don Jose Integrated High School in Santa Rosa City, Laguna.

This attitude that the Japanese marque is showing to the Filipino community was recently recognized with three top awards at the 5th Driven to Serve Awards by the Society of Philippine Motoring Journalists (SPMJ) last April. The awards are a reflection of the brand’s efforts in enriching the lives of Filipinos amid challenges such as the pandemic.

As for the Brigada Eskwela program, HCPI aims to safeguard students as they enter a new school year. But this isn’t the first time Honda supported the program. In fact, the brand has been a partner since 2008, improving the learning environment of students from 18 schools near its Laguna office.

“We congratulate the Brigada Eskwela partners and coordinators for your dedication through the years. This community is much like our home, and it is the members’ shared responsibility to protect the safety and well-being of the next generation,” said HCPI Executive Vice President Ms. Vicenta Balarbar.

“HCPI is always grateful for opportunities to help in activities such as this,” added Balarbar.

One of the accolades HCPI bagged at the 5th Driven to Serve Awards is for its Teen Smart: Road Safety For Teens. In line with the programs the company backs such as the Brigada Eskwela to support the youth, the said program aims to educate senior high school students regarding the importance of road safety.
