This crossover has proven to be a serious contender.

Since its initial introduction to the Philippines back in August 2020, the Ford Territory has remained as the Blue Oval’s best-selling crossover SUV in the local market. In fact, during the first quarter of this year, Ford Philippines saw an 11-percent increase in units sold compared to the previous year.

Two years after its launch and the Territory shows no signs of slowing down sales-wise

Considering that it was launched two years ago, this is quite a strong showing for the relatively new Territory nameplate. To put this into perspective, Ford managed to sell a total of 3,691 units in the first half of 2022. That’s three times more than last month’s figures. Furthermore, it even garnered a 52 percent market share out of the local small crossover SUV segment.

With this sales pace, Ford says that the Territory might see its 15,000th unit sales milestone before 2022 closes. To this end, one can go on to say that this particular crossover has indeed become the brand’s breadwinner for the local market.

The Ford Territory is fast becoming a common sight on Philippine roads

Mike Breen, Ford Philippines’ managing director agrees with this, saying that the “Ford Territory remains one of our most important vehicles in the Ford lineup and we are excited to sustain its success for the remainder of the year.”

So why is the Ford Territory such a hit? Well, its success can be attributed to the wealth of features that it provides for its price of Php 1,310,000. For that amount, this compact crossover already gets a 360-degree monitor, a panoramic moonroof, blind-spot monitoring, a sizable 10-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, among others.

Its 1.5-liter powertrain also makes decent power for the vehicle’s size. At the most, it can make up to 141 horsepower and 225 Nm of torque. The said powertrain is then paired with a continuously variable transmission sending power to its front wheels.

The model in question also comes with a 3-year scheduled service plan for a worry-free ownership experience. This in turn, will certainly attract further adopters for the Territory.
