The pickup will join this year’s Ford Island Conquest.

Ford Philippines announced that the sixth-year edition of the Ford Island Conquest will happen next week. One of the most notable models that will join the test drive event is the next-generation Ford Ranger Raptor.

The Ford Island Conquest will be following the official Philippine debut of the next-gen Ranger Raptor on May 18, 2023. It will also be the first time Filipinos get to see the more performance-oriented version of the Ranger since the company teased it at the 2023 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).

Since the model has not yet been launched in the country, we don’t know what to expect from the pickup truck at the upcoming event.

One of the expected features that the vehicle will be using is a familiar 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel engine instead of a V6 gasoline. This powertrain setup was introduced a year after the model made its global debut in 2022.

The said diesel engine is capable of generating 207 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, sending power to all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission. For better off-road performance, the truck comes ready with upgraded Fox shock absorbers, seven drive modes, and front and rear differential locks.

But again, we still have to wait for an announcement from Ford Philippines regarding the official specs of the PH-spec Ranger Raptor.

Another newcomer at the Ford Island Conquest will be the next-gen Ford Territory. Coming with increased dimensions, the latest iteration of the compact crossover is equipped with new amenities such as larger 19-inch wheels, dual-zone climate control, and a unified screen setup on the dashboard.

Making a return at the test drive event will be the next-gen Ford Ranger and Everest. Underpinned by an updated T6.2 platform, the two said models were the stars of last year’s Ford Island Conquest.
