Ford PH to bring limited-run Ranger Raptor X in July

Ford Philippines has confirmed that it will be bringing in the Ranger Raptor X as a limited-edition trim starting next month. Once available, the said version of the Raptor will have a price tag of Php 2,038,000. As a limited-edition variant, only 200 units of the Ranger Raptor X will be sold locally.

Now, we’ve previously talked about this special edition Raptor. It was first released in Australia, then in Europe. As for the version we’re receiving in the local market, it will definitely appear identical with the said versions.  

On the outside, it will bear some visual upgrades including body stripes over the hood, as well as a Matte Black Carbon Twill texture, which is framed by Searing Red Keyline graphics on the doors and rear quarter panel. Apart from that, the truck’s grille, bumper cover, tailgate, fender vents, fog light bezels, and door handles are given a matte black finish.

There are also multiple colors to choose from for the Ford Ranger Raptor X. It will come available in Arctic White, Conquer Gray, and Performance Blue. 

Apart from the exterior styling upgrades, the Ranger Raptor X also gets additional accessories. These include a set of matte black wheels wrapped with BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires, and an extended leg sports bar. The front-end will also come with red-colored front tow hooks to complete the look of the Ranger Raptor X.

Inside, Ford also gave the Ranger Raptor X body-contoured sport seats, which will help keep you planted during spirited driving. Most of its interior also has red stitching, and the air-conditioning vents are given chrome accents.  

As for mechanical bits, the Ford Ranger Raptor X uses the same 2.0-liter Biturbo diesel engine that the regular Raptor uses. At most, this mill can make up to 210 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. It is then paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to a 4x4 drivetrain. And of course, it also comes with the 2.5-inch FOX Racing shocks, as well as Ford’s Terrain Management System.

Apart from the Ranger Raptor X, Ford Philippine also announced the availability of the new Ranger Wildtrak 4x4 with a power roller shutter. With this accessory, you can say goodbye to getting your cargo wet under the rain during this rainy season. Of note, this Wildtrak variant will have a price tag of Php 1,728,000.

The 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor is a performance-oriented pickup truck. For the Philippine market, its sole variant is priced at Php 2,345,000. 

Under the hood of the all-new Ranger Raptor is a 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel that can make up to 207 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. The engine is then paired to a 10-speed automatic gearbox sending power to all four wheels.  

The 2024 Ranger Raptor is 5,381mm long, 2,028mm wide, and 1,922mm in height. It then has a wheelbase length spanning 3,270mm. 

Locally, the Ranger Raptor’s closest competitors are the Nissan Navara PRO-4X and the Hilux GR Sport.

The all-new 2024 Ranger Raptor follows the design language of the second-generation T6 Ranger. That said, it gets a pair of Matrix LED headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, front fog lamps, and large fender flares. 

To make it ready for off-road use, Ford fitted this truck with dual front and rear tow hooks. Its under chassis likewise gets protective plates.  

Other features present on the Ranger Raptor’s exterior include power folding side mirrors, powder-coated side steps, and a bedliner with 230-volt and 12-volt power sockets.

Inside the Ranger Raptor is a cabin that can comfortably seat up to five occupants. The cabin is kept cool by a dual-zone automatic air-conditioning system, and all of its seats are wrapped in leather. A center armrest is also available for the rear cabin.  

The driver of this Ford pickup truck is then provided with a push-to-start button, a center armrest, and a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster. Both front cabin seats are power adjustable as well. 

Technology & Safety Features

Providing entertainment for the Ranger Raptor’s occupants is a 12-inch portrait touchscreen display. It has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity. Charging smartphones is then made easy thanks to a wireless device charging pad.  

As for safety features, the Ranger Raptor gets a whole host of standard equipment. It gets seven airbags, anti-lock braking, front and rear parking sensors, stability control, ISOFIX child seat anchors, hill-launch assist, hill descent control, etc. 

Enhancing safety aboard its model is a set of advanced driver assist technologies. Chief among these are adaptive cruise control, lane centering, automatic high beams, autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, evasive steer assist, lane departure warning, lane keep aid, a 360-degree view camera, blind spot monitoring, etc. 

Platform & Chassis

The all-new Ranger Raptor uses an improved version of the Fox Shocks set that came on the previous generation model. Specifically, it gets 2.5-inch Fox Shocks, with position-sensitive damping technology.  

Braking for the Ranger Raptor is then handled by disc brakes for all four wheels. It then uses an electronic parking brake with auto-hold control.  

Like the regular Ranger, the Ranger Raptor is based on Ford’s T6-platform. This means that it comes with a ladder-frame chassis.
