Ferrari revealed its first concept car created specifically for the virtual motorsport world with the Vision Gran Turismo.
Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo
As the name suggests, the new Ferrari concept car is entering the world of Sony’s Gran Turismo video game. It is arriving at virtual race tracks with its futuristic-looking hypercar design, as well as a hybrid powertrain that makes over 1,000 horsepower.
According to the Italian automaker, the design of the Vision Gran Turismo took inspiration from the 1960s and 70s Ferrari Sports Prototypes. The concept car is also designed to embody the DNA of the 330 P3 and 512 S, paying homage to the brand’s glorious racing history.

The interior focuses more on functionality and driver ergonomics, inspiring a more confident drive. It can only seat one driver, with the glass pivoted from the front of the jet-inspired cockpit. Moreover, the dashboard comes with transparent high-tech materials that reveal the mechanical components.
Speaking of mechanical components, the Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine you will find in the 296 GTB, 296 GTS, and 296 GT3. It is also the same power unit used by the Ferrari 499P, which will serve as the brand’s entry into the Le Mans Hypercar category of the upcoming FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season.
This Ferrari concept will be running the GT tracks and streets
As for the performance figures, the concept car is said to make 1,337 horsepower, which is 1,016 horsepower from the internal combustion engine (ICE) and 321 horsepower from the three electric motors. The powertrain sends power to all four-wheel (AWD) via an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
Starting December 23, the Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo will become available to all users of the Gran Turismo 7. But aside from the virtual world, we could be looking at a preview of Ferrari’s future hypercar flagship model that could succeed the LaFerrari. The full-scale design study will make its first public appearance at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello.
Ferrari unveils the Vision Gran Turismo
Sure, the models built within the hypercar flagship line were powered by either a V8 or a V12. But considering that the industry is complying with more stringent emission regulations and hybridization, a new era of V6-powered Ferrari flagship hypercars may be upon us.
If true, this won’t be the first time an automaker previewed a hypercar model in the Gran Turismo world for future production. One recent example is McLaren, which brought the Solus GT Hypercar to life at the 2022 Monterey Car Week in California. This makes 830 horsepower with its 5.2-liter, 10,000-rpm revving V10 NA engine.
