Dongfeng has expanded its product offering with the launching of three electrified passenger cars for the Philippine market. These are the NANOBox EV, Forthing Friday EV, and Aeolus Huge Hybrid.

The launch was made possible under the new distributorship of Legado Motors, Inc. (LMI), a relative newcomer to the automotive industry that previously managed the GAC brand. Present in the launching ceremony were Legado Motors, Inc. Chairman Luis Chavit Singson and President of the Philippines Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

The NANOBox EV is a mini crossover that takes aim at the Jetour Ice Cream EV. With a suggested retail price (SRP) of just Php 888,000, this EV model can be the go-to choice for those who are looking to own their first non-combustion car.

The other EV model in the lineup is the Forthing Friday – which is made available in two variants. The first one is capable of giving a range of 430 km. That is 100 km more than the Nissan Leaf in the same price range at Php 1,980,000.

Taking it up a notch is the second variant capable of providing a range of 630 km. For Php 2,580,000, this long-range version tops even the EVs from mainstream brands such as the Hyundai Ioniq 6 with a 545 km driving range and the Kia EV6 with a range of 528 km.

The third in the lineup is the Aeolus Huge Hybrid, which comes in at Php 1,880,000. It features a premium-looking design underscored by the multi-slatted grille at the front. This directly rivals the GWM Haval H6 in the hybrid compact crossover segment.

"Legado Motors, Inc. is proud to be at the forefront of the electric vehicle revolution in the Philippines. Our partnership with Dongfeng Motors aligns perfectly with our vision of affordable and sustainable mobility. We are confident that these models will be well-received by the Filipino people,” said Sison.
