Changan Motor Philippines, Inc. (CMPI) is on a roll in showcasing the fuel consumption ratings of its vehicles with the help of the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP). The latest Changan model to undergo a fuel economy run is the brand’s entry to the compact crossover segment, the CS75 Plus.
Changan CS75 Plus
According to the APP, the Changan CS75 Plus posted a 17.3 km/l fuel economy rating on the highway while driving at a speed of 60 to 85 km/h. The fuel economy run covers a distance of 180.65 km from Shell Balagtas NLEX Northbound to Clark Spur Road along SCTEX, and back.
As for city driving, the compact crossover registered a fuel economy of 8.9 km/l while driving through city traffic. The route started from Makati City, Pasay City, Manila City, and Quezon City, and vice versa, covering a total fuel test run distance of 90.7 km.
Certification from the AAP
Of note, the following driving parameters were set to provide realistic fuel economy ratings as per AAP:
- The vehicle used was fueled to the brim
- All OEM equipment present
- Tire pressures set at OEM specifications
- Air conditioning set to medium cool thermostat setting
- Radio either not used, on low volume, or on mute
- Two passengers seated and no extra baggage
The said fuel economy numbers of the Changan CS75 Plus are delivered by the model’s 1.5-liter Turbocharged Gasoline Direct Injection (T-GDi). It can send maximum power of 176 hp and 265 Nm of torque to the front wheels via a 6-speed gearbox.

The other two Changan models that had their fuel economy ratings certified by APP include the Alsvin and CS35 Plus. An impressive 22.023 km/l fuel economy rating was flaunted by the Alsvin on highway driving. Meanwhile, the CS35 Plus was able to put up a 21.432 km/l highway fuel economy number.

The Changan CS75 Plus is a five-seater compact crossover that’s equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that delivers 176 hp and 265 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
The CS75 Plus goes up against the likes of the Honda CR-V, Chery Tiggo 7 Pro, Toyota Corolla Cross, among others. In terms of dimensions, the Changan CS75 Plus measures 4,690mm long, 1,865mm wide, and 1,710mm tall. It also has a wheelbase of 2,710mm.
The Changan CS75 Plus is offered with a sole variant that’s priced at Php 1,229,000.
