It is now known as Bosch Mobility Aftermarket.

As per an official statement, the Bosch Automotive Aftermarket business unit will now operate under the new name: Bosch Mobility Aftermarket. It is still a part of the German company’s mobility sector but it reflects the division’s wider scope.

According to the company, this represents its reaction to the changes in the market. As such, the change from “automotive” to “mobility” within its official title is warranted. The company, after all, is keen on understanding mobility and its future, as well as its effect on customers.

That said, the core of the business is still maintenance and repair of vehicles - specifically spare parts. Then again, the Bosche Mobility Aftermarket will now cover sustainable mobility solutions as well.

For now, the company has yet to give specifics of how this change will affect its product lineup. But if we had to guess, it might be developing aftermarket parts, and hopefully even tools for new energy vehicles like hybrids and battery electric vehicles (BEVs).

Currently, Bosch employs over 421,000 people all across the globe. It is the market leader in several business sectors: mobility, industrial technology, and consumer goods, among others. Bosch Mobility Aftermarket is the company’s division primarily handling automotive products.

Among car enthusiasts, the Bosch brand is known for its variety of parts for a wide selection of makes and models. The brand sells products like wipers, brake pads, sensors, starters, alternators, oil filters, spark plugs, and many other products.

Last year, the company released a high-friction, low-vibration brake pad for the Philippine market. These are engineered to be one of the best replacements for a car’s original equipment (OE) in the market right now.

Other Bosch activities conducted in the local market include the Bosch Diesel Powerhouse (DPH) Diesel Workshop Conference, which functioned to improve diesel-engine knowledge for mechanics.
