BAIC PH returns with a renewed 5-SUV lineup

BAIC Philippines returns to the local market under the distributorship of United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI). Under the new management, the brand is set to take the market head-on with a lineup of five all-new crossovers and SUVs.

To mark the occasion, UAAGI held a preview event at Palacio de Memoria in Parañaque City to showcase these all-new rides. The B40 Ragnar, B60 Beaumont, B80 Wagon, X55 Verve, and X7 Grandeza were shown off at the preview event.

Of note, BAIC PH also revealed the pricing for these new models for the Philippine market. Here’s a list of the brand’s new model lineup: 

The B40 Ragnar, B80 Wagon, and B60 Beaumont are all body-on-frame SUVs that are equipped with four-wheel-drive. The B60 stands out as it is available as a diesel hybrid, while the rest comes in either turbocharged gasoline or turbodiesel versions. 

According to the company, these SUVs have engines displacing from 2.0-liter to 3.0-liter. These can deliver 380 to 420 Nm of torque. 

B80 Wagon

Meanwhile, the X55 Verve and the X7 Grandeza are monocoque-bodied crossovers fitted with 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engines. At the most, they can churn out up to 305 Nm of torque. 

The company further added that these models are produced by a world-class, fully robotic assembly line in plants located in Shunyi, Beijing, China. They are likewise touted as stylish looking from the outside while rich with amenities from the inside. 

X55 Verve

Some features that these SUVs and crossovers include LED headlamps with automatic functionality, power tailgates, power-adjustable seating, large touchscreen displays, multiple airbags, and advanced driver-assistive systems (ADAS), among others. 

If you’re excited about what’s to come from BAIC PH, note that the brand’s entire lineup will see a grand public launch at the 2024 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). This will be held from April 4, 2024, to April 7, 2024, at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
