It’s the British marque’s first-ever crossover.

After its global debut back in 2020, Aston Martin’s first-ever crossover SUV model is officially launching in the Philippines. DBPhils Motorsports Inc., the official distributor of Aston Martin models in the country, will be holding a virtual media launch on July 1, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Do note though that the public launch will be a separate event, so stay tuned for that.

The Aston Martin DBX

For those unaware, the DBX is a five-door, midsize luxury crossover. It features swan-hinged doors, as well as the largest Aston Martin-style grille ever. As a crossover, it can comfortably seat up to five, and it offers as much as 1,540 liters with the second-row folded down. Also interesting is the car’s adaptive dampers that are paired with air springs. This enables the DBX’s height to be adjusted, and it also ensures ride comfort.

Under the hood, the Aston Martin crossover is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. The said V8 is called the M177 and it was developed by Mercedes-AMG. At most, this mill can produce up to 550 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. The DBX also uses an all-wheel-drive system with an active central differential, and the rear has an electronic rear limited-slip differential. With these, we can be certain that the DBX is quite a versatile vehicle and it will be able to take on most road types and surfaces in the local setting.

Apart from the attractive silhouette, the DBX also features functional vents

Of course, the said model features the typical Aston Martin exterior design, which somewhat mirrors the look of the Vantage. The crossover, however, comes with a more muscular-looking hood, and a sharper-looking pair of headlamps. Its rear end also features a duck-tail spoiler, a top-mounted rear spoiler, as well as full-width taillamps which mirror the one on the Vantage.

Like the rest of the models under the British brand, the DBX also features a plush interior, which is almost entirely covered in leather.

Aston Martin DBX
The Aston Martin DBX made its world debut in 2019. The DBX is Aston Martin’s first-ever crossover SUV, a vehicle that can accommodate up to five occupants. In 2020, the DBX officially made its ASEAN debut during the 41st Bangkok International Motor Show in Thailand. With that in mind, there’s a good chance that the Philippine market will also be getting the Aston Martin DBX since most of the cars offered in Thailand are also available in the local market.
