The Ford Edge 2019 lineup has just been announced to welcome a new member, a performance SUV called the ST. This newbie is said to be offered with the most potent V6 engine in its segment which is a 2.7L twin-turbo EcoBoost engine, capable of pushing out 335 hp and 515 Nm of peak torque.

Looking at the outside of the car, the Ford’s performance SUV comes adorned with a large mesh grille at the front for best cooling, deep side skirts, a distinctive set of 21-inch wheels and present at the rear are dual-exhaust pipes.

Moving on to the inside, almost every detail from the steering wheel and scuff plates to the seat backs persuasively proves that this is a very unique Edge model. Speaking of infotainment system, the vehicle comes loaded with:
- Wireless charging pad;
- 12-speaker B&O sound system;
- HD radio;
- FordPass Connect allowing start, lock, unlock and locate the vehicle as well as offering internet access to up to 10 devices via a Wi-Fi hotspot;
- SYNC with AppLink (standard);
- Optional SYNC 3 with an 8-inch touchscreen.

As mentioned above, the Ford Edge 2019 ST model is driven by a powerful V6 engine, mated to a 8-speed automatic gearbox which is controlled using a new rotary dial on the revised center console. Manual mode is also made possible thanks to SelectShift steering paddle shifters. Other features include standard performance brake package, AWD with selectable traction control and ST-tuned sport suspension.

According to the Blue Oval, the entire Ford Edge 2019 lineup, the ST included, will come standard with more driver assistance technologies than any other mid-sized SUVs. In detail, the SUV is said to feature a set of the following technologies:
- Forward Collision Warning;
- Dynamic Brake Support;
- BLIS with Cross-Traffic Alert;
- Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection;
- Hill-Start Assist;
- Auto High Beams;
- Lane-Keeping Assist;
- Lane-Keeping Alert.

In addition to the said features, the powerful SUV is also the very first Ford car as well as first vehicle in its class to be offered with a number of all-new features such as Post-Collision Braking, Evasive Steering Assist, Lane Centering and Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go. All these features will come either optional or standard items.
