Hyundai unveiled the mid-cycle update for the seventh-generation Elantra in South Korea. Known as the Avante in its local market, the facelift arrives three years after the current-gen iteration’s debut back in March 2020.
2024 Hyundai Elantra
Looking at the new 2024 Hyundai Elantra, the compact sedan hosts a few exterior tweaks, with the front fascia receiving the most changes. Its headlights, for starters, were reshaped to look sleeker without the sweeping effect from the outgoing model. These mediate the new parametric grille design, which is adjacent to a now-separated front bumper. Adding sportiness to the touch are the faux air vents on each side of the fascia.
With the said revisions in mind, the Hyundai Elantra facelift now has a similar face to the next-generation Accent. Note that the latter is scheduled to debut in its homeland on March 31, 2023.
Interior of the new Elantra
Moving to the side, the body maintains a similar shape to the outgoing model. It still gets sharp character lines guided by the parametric dynamics design concept. It does get a new wheel option, which again, features sharp design details. The rear end is likewise a carryover, but a new diffuser and a car-width U-shaped silver insert were added.
The interior should look familiar as not a lot of changes have been made. A new and unique green interior seat upholstery is the only noticeable update based on the initial photos released.
Hyundai Elantra comes in with sharper looks
Hyundai has yet to unveil the official specifications including what’s under the hood. It would also be interesting to see how the new Elantra will look with the brand’s sporty N package.
It appears like Hyundai Motor Philippines, Inc. (HMPH) won’t be bringing the new Elantra in as the company has shifted its focus on crossover SUVs, and larger vehicles in general. But looking at the redesigned sedan, we can only wish for Hyundai to release it locally as well.
