The all-new sixth-generation Hyundai Verna is scheduled to debut on March 21. Known as the Accent in the global market, it mirrors other new Hyundai models as it likewise carries a futuristic look guided by the brand’s latest design language.

Known as the Global Design Identity of Sensuous Sportiness, this design direction aims to introduce not only sporty touches but also futuristic-looking design cues as well. First unveiled with the Le Fil Rouge concept car at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the all-new Accent is the latest Hyundai to feature the said design language.

Present on the front of the vehicle is the parametric jewel-pattern grille highlights the new design. It can be seen in other Hyundai models as well, with the bigger sedan sibling Hyundai Elantra as one of the first to showcase the grille type. Further adding a futuristic appeal to the upcoming Accent are the Staria-like full-width daytime running lights (DRLs).

This parametric dynamic styling is also adopted on the sides as reflected by the chiseled character lines. It flows downwards flawlessly to the back thanks to the sedan’s fastback side profile. And at the rear, the automaker describes it as “a seamless blend of innovative technology intertwined with a next-level charismatic look.”

Under the hood, the next-gen model will be offered two engine options. The first and new engine is a 1.5-liter turbocharged GDi gasoline engine paired with a 6-speed manual (6MT) and 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). Meanwhile, the other option is a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated gas engine that can be connected to either a 6MT or an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT).

“Today, we are glad to showcase design renders and direction of the all-new Hyundai Verna,” said Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr. Unsoo Kim.

“With the introduction of this futuristic and ferocious sedan, we are aiming to elevate customer experiences and rejuvenate interest in this segment. Through its dynamic proportions and distinctive parametric motifs, the all-new Hyundai Verna will define new aspirations and pave the way for futuristic experiences,” added Kim.

HMIL has set a global premiere for the all-new 2023 Accent in its homeland on March 21, 2023. Considering the new and appealing design, one can only hope that the nameplate will make a comeback in the Philippine lineup following its discontinuation last year in favor of crossovers and MPVs.
