Kudos to last weekend’s TGR victors.

The second leg of the 2022 Toyota Gazoo Racing (GR) Vios Cup has concluded. As such, victors have already emerged out of the 28 racers that participated in the Circuit Championship’s three different categories, as well as the Autocross Challenge.

The said event took place at the Clark International Speedway (CIS) last week on August 20, 2022. Attendees as well as the racers themselves also got to see another preview of the upcoming 2023 Toyota GR 86 which will be debuting on August 26, 2022.

For the Autocross Challenge, Miguel Romulo took first place, Ashley Gosiengfiao got second place, and Carla Lizardo took third place for the Influencer class.  

 

Topping the Influencer sporting class is Jules Aquino, followed by Arron Villafor, and in third is Enzo Pineda.

As mentioned, members of the media also got to participate in the Autocross Challenge. For the Media Promotional Class of the said race event, Pablo Salapatan emerged as the first-place victor. In second is Niko Villegas, followed by Siegwald Go in third. 

In the Autocross Challenge Media Sporting Class, Jamil Lacuna from Autoindustriya ranked as the first place winner. In second place is Roy Robles from Zigwheels, followed by Ronald de los Reyes from Daily Tribune in third.  

Past winners of the GR GT e-racing competition also got to compete in the autocross challenge. In first place in this category is Luis Moreno, followed by Russel Reyes in second place, and Mark Elman in third.

As mentioned, the Toyota GR86’s launch for the local market is imminent. Toyota Motor Philippines has also revealed the pricing for the two GR86 variants. The entry-level manual transmission version will be priced at Php 2,328,000 while the automatic tranny version will retail for Php 2,499,000.

Moreover, the upcoming GR 86 will be made available in 19 dealerships only. Of note, these are Gazoo Racing Performance-accredited Toyota dealerships. Here’s a list:
