List of road closures for 2022 bar exams announced

Some roads will be closed, while others will have increased traffic. 

The country’s future legal minds will be tested this month in the 2022 Bar Examinations. To this end, there will be road closures and rerouting implemented to ensure that examinees will not be distracted on their journey to be included in the roll of legal practitioners.

It's that time of the year again when examinees hope to be included among the country's legal practitioners

A list of roads that will be closed off during the exams has been released by the Supreme Court through the Office of the 2022 Bar Chairperson. Specific thoroughfares will be impassable to all vehicles, while others will see increased traffic flow as a result.  The new traffic scheme will be in effect for the duration of the exams, which will be held on November 9, 13, 16, and 20, 2022. 

The following will be the traffic scheme for De La Salle University of Manila in Taft Avenue, National Capital Region: 

  • Estrada Street (Taft south bound) to Quirino Street in Taft Avenue will be closed from 2:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. 
  • Estrada Street (Taft north bound) to Quirino Street in Taft Avenue will be closed from 2:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Fidel corner Noli Street (at the back of DLSU) will be closed from 2:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  

For San Beda University, Concepcion Aguila Street and Mendiola Street (from C.M. Recto intersection to Concepcion Aguila) will be closed. The Manila Adventist College will also see the corner of San Juan Street and Donada Street up to Leveriza Street closed from 3:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

There will be road closures in parts of Manila 

There will be no road closures for the University of the Philippines at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig and Ateneo De Manila University in Katipunan, Quezon City. Motorists are advised to expect increase traffic volume in these areas.

As for the rest of Luzon, no road closures will be implemented in the vicinity of Saint Louis University in Baguio City. The University of Nueva Caceres in Naga City will have J. Hernandez Avenue (in front of UNC), P. Burgos Street, Bayawas Street, and Gen. Luna street closed off to vehicular traffic. 

Meanwhile, De La Salle University’s Lipa Campus will have the following traffic scheme in effect: 

  • One lane beside DLSL along J.P. Laurel National Highway will be partially closed from 4:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., to allow the drop-off and pick-up of examinees at the school’s main entrance. 
  • One lane beside DLSL along Calle Arzopisbado will be partially closed from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. 
  • Traffic rerouting will be in effect on November 20, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with all vehicles coming from Mataas na Lupa advised to turn left to San Carlos-Tibig Road going to the Lipa city proper. 

For the Visayas region, the University of San Carlos in Cebu City will have Pelaez and Sanciango Streets closed off. The University of Cebu (Banilad Campus) in Cebu City will have one lane of the northbound road in front closed from 3:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. 

Dr. V. Orestes Romualdez Educational Foundation in Tacloban City will have Calanipawan Road closed from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on November 20.

Certain roads in Visayas and Mindanao will also be subjected to an alternative traffic scheme

For the Mindanao region, there are no announced road closures for Ateneo De Davao University. Meanwhile, Ateneo De Zamboanga will have two lanes each of Gov. Alvarez and La Purisima Streets as well as one lane of Nunez Street beside ADZU closed off from 4:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. 

Xavier University will have Hayes Street closed starting 6:00 a.m. on November 8, 12, 15, and 19. Additional roads in front of Corrales Avenue will also be closed on November 9, 13, 16, and 20.
