Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP), the official business unit of Toyota in the country, confirmed last month that it will launch the Vios Cup and GR GT Cup this year. Now, TMP is inviting everyone to watch the first round of the GR GT Cup which will be broadcasted live on its official Facebook page. Big prices worth up to Php 1,000,000 await the winners from the virtual racing cup’s different racing categories.

The 2021 Toyota Gazoo GR GT Cup e-Motorsport Series is based on the Gran Turismo Sport videogame exclusive for Sony Playstation gamers. It is organized by Toyota Gazoo Racing and the live broadcast will start this Friday, April 30, 2021, at 8 p.m. (Philippine Standard Time).

During the first round, TMP encourages racers to accumulate as many points as they can so they can move up in the ranking and help them qualify for the next rounds. The overall champion will take home a brand new PlayStation 5, while the second and third placers get a high-powered tablet and a gaming chair, respectively.

Finishers of the national rounds will get to share gaming gears and devices including a gaming steering wheel, portable gaming console, a high-definition headset, top-tier gaming monitors, and more. Moreover, racers of the Junior and Special racing categories get the chance to take home a Playstation gaming headset, gaming mouse, gaming drive shifter, and plus smart home devices.

The Round Two Leaderboard Race starts on May 28 and the Race Heat Landing on May 29 this year. Meanwhile, the Round Three Leaderboard Race will commence on June 18 and the Final Heat Race will be on June 19 where we will find out who will be the victor of the e-racing series.

For those who did not get the chance to register, TMP is encouraging interested individuals to join the next round via its official website. The GT Cup has requirements before registration including:

  • High-speed internet
  • Active Facebook account
  • Valid passport.

The Toyota Supra is a 2-seater sports car that is available in the Philippines at a price range from Php 5,396,000 to Php 5,496,000. Only one variant is available locally which uses a BMW-sourced 3.0-liter inline-6 twin-scroll turbocharged gasoline engine that generates 335 Nm of torque and 500 Nm of torque. This engine is connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard.
