It was only last month when Nissan Philippines (NPI) churned out its top-of-line 4x4 Nissan X-Trail 2018 coming equipped with a wealth of cool updates. Perhaps the Japanese firm has been busy expanding its offerings over the last few years. As just a couple of days ago, Nissan also introduced Nissan Leaf Nismo at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. And in less than a month’ time, this sporty Leaf will spawn a special van variant – called the Nissan Serena Nismo 2018. The Nismo Conept variant will be on hand to grace the 45th Tokyo Motor Show stand.

A quick glimpse at the Serena Nismo’s flanks shows some characters taken straight from or maybe lifted directly from the Nismo parts bin. A custom aerokit helps the Leaf Nismo concept improve and achieve the best possible performance while giving the van more flair. The Serena Nismo’s appearance is adorned with signature red accents, adding some sexy style to the car’s profile.
However what truly sets the Nissan Serena Nismo 2018 apart from the already high-end electric variant – the Leaf Nismo hatch is what lies beneath the hood. This means the Serena’s sporty makeover is more than skin deep. Suspension adjustments have been made by the automaker’s motorsport and tuning arm to provide the Serena more grip when the car is moving on the road. Naturally, driving performance is also improved to provide even more acceleration than the regular Serena.

The Nissan Serena Nismo 2018 comes with a 2.0-liter MR20DD four-cylinder engine that delivers an output of 147Ps and 210Nm of torque. All that car grunt is coursed through Nissan’s Xtronic continuously variable transmission (CVT).
The Serena Nismo is all set and ready to be launched at the 45th Tokyo Motor Show, so catch this cool, great van and a slew of other special car concepts at the show. In fact, the Serena Nismo is truly a takeaway we need a serious poke around.
