The updated 2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer has been unveiled, offering plenty of improvements inside and out. This comes three years after its initial global debut way back in 2019 in China.

The 2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer for the US market

Note that the updated version is for the US-spec Trailblazer. Its improvements include a revamped exterior, as well as additional onboard features. Despite having a revamped design and updated tech, Chevy’s crossover SUV for the US market is still equipped with the same power unit options: 1.2- or 1.3-liter turbo gasoline engines.

Without further ado, let’s check out the 2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer in detail.

Exterior

One huge thing that was changed on the 2024 Trailblazer is its front fascia. The two-tiered grille is still present, but the lights flanking the said grille now look more compact. The upper LED daytime running lamps were also made sharper.

The new details on the front of the vehicle collectively provide the 2024 Trailblazer with a more contemporary, bolder look.

Then again, the side profile and the rear section of the car remained largely unchanged. But it does get a set of new 19-inch wheels. Also available in the updated model are the new Copper Harbor Metallic and Cacti Green colors.

Interior

The 2024 Trailblazer can still fit up to five occupants, with cargo room to spare. The rear seats retain their 60:40 split fold functionality, and leather or fabric seats are still present depending on the trim.

The design of the center console and steering wheel designs remains unchanged. Though the dashboard was reconfigured. Specifically, the main air-conditioning vents were moved to accommodate the larger headunit, which we’ll discuss later.

All variants of the 2024 Trailblazer also come standard with a push-to-start button and cruise control.

Tech & Safety

The 2024 Trailblazer as mentioned, gets a new 11-inch touchscreen headunit. This replaces the smaller seven-inch headunit present in the outgoing version.

Smartphones can then connect to the said headunit via wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Furthermore, wireless smartphone charging is also available in specific variants.

Safety-wise, the updated Trailblazer gets several driver-assistive safety features. This includes an automatic emergency braking system with forward collision alert, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, a following distance indicator, and high-beam assist.

Engine

Under the hood of the 2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer for the US market is a 1.2-liter or 1.3-liter engine. Both are three-cylinder mills, and both are turbocharged.

For the smaller 1.2-liter engine, it can make up to 137 horsepower and 220 Nm of torque. It is then paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) sending power to the front wheels.

The larger 1.3-liter engine meanwhile, can churn out 155 horsepower and 236 Nm of torque. Instead of a CVT, this uses a nine-speed automatic gearbox sending power to all four wheels.

Note that while these powertrains remain unchanged for the US market, the currently available Philippine-spec Trailblazer is slightly different.

Our version exclusively uses a 1.3-liter mill with the same output. Although, the current PH-spec Trailblazer comes with a CVT.

Pricing

For the US market, the 2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer has four different variants. These include entry-level LS, LT, RS, and the top-spec Activ. The Standard retail pricing for these ranges from $23,100 (around Php 1.265 million at current exchange rates) to $ 27,100 (Php 1.484 million)  before taxes and other fees.

The Activ variant can handle rough terrain due to its off-road tuned suspension

The Trailblazer Activ top-spec trim also stands out as it is the only one that’s designed to deal with rough terrain. The said variant features off-road-oriented shocks, dampers, and tires. It is also the only trim that comes with a functional skid plate.
