In the matter of powerplant, the internal combustion 3.6L V6 engine combines with an electric motor to produce more power as well as enhancing the acceleration. Further, the braking energy and the excess power are also under the electric motor’s control, helping gather momentum for the next acceleration and also saving energy.
The power is fed to wheels through a 9-speed automatic transmission. Notably, thanks to an additional gear for the low and medium speed range, the XT5 is said to be born for city driving.
