2017 Cadillac XT5 Hybrid makes its way in China from P3.67 million

It may be one of the most expensive hybrid cars in China.

The on-sale Cadillac XT5 has been introduced at 2017 Chengdu Motor Show with an all-new mild hybrid system. This is the first time General Motors has introduced such a kind of vehicle in China. Apart from improving driving versatility and ride comfort, the new Cadillac for sale is now more fuel efficient with a decent 7.9L/100 km.

In the matter of powerplant, the internal combustion 3.6L V6 engine combines with an electric motor to produce more power as well as enhancing the acceleration. Further, the braking energy and the excess power are also under the electric motor’s control, helping gather momentum for the next acceleration and also saving energy.

The power is fed to wheels through a 9-speed automatic transmission. Notably, thanks to an additional gear for the low and medium speed range, the XT5 is said to be born for city driving.

Both the exterior and interior remain unchanged, except for the Cadillac User Experience (CUE) governing the mild hybrid system. Infotainment apps include Cloud Music, NetEase and Kaola FM. What’s more, "an industry-first Rear Camera Mirror to a Bose Centerpoint surround sound system" is also offered.

Available in XT5 28E Platinum 4WD and 28E Advanced 4WD variants, the prices for the new Cadillac XT 5 is $81,041 (P4.13 million) and $72,035 (P3.67 million), respectively.
