Can’t wait for this hippie microbus to return!

Initially showcased at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year, the Volkswagen I.D. Buzz will soon enter production and evidently, will be an all-electric microbus. Both Dr Herbert Diess and Dr Eckhard Scholz, Chairman of the Boards of Management of the Volkswagen and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles brands have confirmed this at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Like what we saw at Detroit, batteries of the production I.D. Buzz will be put in the floor for space-saving. Moreover, the bus will also feature a long wheelbase with short overhangs to make room for an ample cabin. According to Diess, the I.D. Buzz will offer a generous interior space of a large SUV.

Alongside the commodious space, the VW I.D. Buzz will be “the perfect balance between emotion, usability and sustainability”. Accordingly, a roomy cargo space, multi-variable high seating, interactive connectivity, all-wheel drive, an appealing exterior design and even highly automated driving will all converge in this versatile and eco-friendly bus.

As per production planning, the I.D. Buzz will hit dealerships in North America, Europe and China in 2022.
