It’s still being offered as confirmed by Toyota Motor PH.

A question has been posted online early this week asking whether or not Toyota Motor Philippines has discontinued the Vios E variant. The answer to that is, no, the Toyota Vios E has not been discontinued.

A quick browse through Toyota Motor Philippines’ official website indicates that the Vios E is still included in the model lineup. The Japanese car brand is continuing to offer the Vios E which can be had with either a five-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

The Vios E with a five-speed manual transmission is priced at Php 886,000 while the one with CVT retails at Php 936,000. These prices are based on Toyota Motor PH’s official website. Both the Toyota Vios E five-speed MT and CVT are powered by a 1.3-liter gasoline engine that delivers 98 hp and 123 Nm of torque.

Philkotse also reached out to Toyota Motor PH about the matter. The car brand said that the Vios E is not discontinued and it is still part of its subcompact sedan’s variant lineup.

Toyota Motor PH is offering 10 Vios variants. The wide variant selection is one of the contributing factors that continue to make the Vios a top-selling car in the Philippines. Last 2022, the Toyota Vios reigned supreme once again as it held the number one spot in the top 10 best-selling cars in the Philippines. A report by Autoindustriya stated that the Vios recorded 34,465 unit sales last year.

The Toyota Vios’ pricing starts at Php 706,000 while the top-spec GR-S retails at Php 1,055,000. An additional Php 15,000 will be put on top if you prefer to have the Toyota Vios GR-S in White Pearl Crystal exterior paint.

Dropping or discontinuing a variant from a certain car model is not new. Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has previously revamped the variant lineup for some of its vehicle models.

One example would be the revamped City subcompact sedan variant lineup. HCPI dropped the City Sedan variant with a manual transmission last July 2022. As such, all Honda City Sedan variants available in the Philippines now come standard with CVT.

Recently, HCPI has also tweaked the Civic variant lineup as it axed the previous S entry-level trim. As of this writing, the Honda Civic is offered in two variants: V Turbo CVT and RS Turbo CVT. The two variants are powered by a 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine that puts out 176 hp and 240 Nm of torque. Both also come with Honda Sensing advanced driver assistance tech.
