In Japan, the Toyota Hiace 2018 can be blessed with a 2.8L 1 GD-FTV turbo diesel engine which is tuned up from that of the updated Innova and Hilux, according to latest car news. As for the output, the new engine can produce 150 PS @ 3,600 rpm and a peak torque of 300 Nm between 1,000 – 3,400 rpm. A 6-speed automatic transmission with manual select is also an extra offering to replace the dated 4-speed automatic.

Alongside the new heart, the Japan-mode Toyota Hiace still runs the familiar inline-four gasoline engines: 2.7L 2TR-FE and 2.0L 1TR-FE. The smaller engine is capable of 136 PS @ 5,600 rpm and 182 Nm @ 4,000 rpm while the bigger one can deliver 243 Nm @ 4,000 rpm and 160 PS @ 5,200 rpm. Similar to the 2.8L engine, these two engines are also mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with manual select.
Toyota Safety Sense P is not strange to Toyota models and now, it’s available in the Toyota Hiace 2018 apart from standard features like ABS, traction control and Vehicle Stability Control. Thanks to this new advanced safety kit, the Hiace will become far safer with:
