Toyota has recently launched the Toyota Corolla Cross GR Sport for the Thai-market. And as the name implies, it is the sportier-looking version of the Corolla Altis-based crossover. As a side note, this GR Sport model is identical to the one launched earlier this year in Taiwan.

In terms of looks, this version of the Corolla Cross gets a trendier appearance courtesy of black-colored exterior pieces. Specifically, it comes with a black-colored roof, black side mirrors, and even its taillamps are provided with a black tint. It then rides on a set of Gazoo racing 18-inch alloy wheels with a two-tone color scheme.
For mechanical bits, the Corolla Cross GR Sport offers better handling overall by way of an alternate set of shock absorbers and springs. Its electronic steering system was also given a sportier quality via a tune. The body of this vehicle is also stiffer than the normal Corolla Cross as it is equipped with a lower strut bar.

Its powertrain though, no alterations were made. It still uses a 1.8-liter inline-4 DOHC hybrid engine paired with an intelligent continuously variable transmission (e-CVT), which then sends power to the front wheels. At maximum, the said engine can produce a combined output of 120 horsepower and 142 Nm of torque.
Like most GR Sport variants, the Corolla Cross GR Sport for Thailand gets a tweaked interior. Specifically, it gets GR logos on its headrests and on its push-to-start button. Its seats also come with silver-colored accent stitching, and the instrument panel is decorated with a piano black trim piece.
Another new feature that comes with the Corolla Cross GR Sport is an update for the Toyota Safety Sense. It now has lane trace assist, as well as all-speed dynamic radar cruise control.
