This huge parade means snail-pace traffic.

The 22nd Bambino Grand Parade is about to hit Pasig City. Specifically, it is scheduled to take place on Sunday, January 15, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. onwards.

With the event being a parade, it is then understandable that some roads will be closed. So for the convenience of motorists, the Pasig City Public Information Office (PCPIO) released a list of the said roads to be closed for the said event. Here’s the list:

Closed Roads for 22nd Bambino Grand Parade (January 15, 2023)

  • Road 1 & 2

  • Caruncho Avenue Westbound

  • M.H. Del Pilar Street (San Nicolas, Sto. Tomas)

  • E. Angeles Street (Sto. Tomas)

  • Dr. Pilapil Street (Sagad)

  • Dr. Sixto Antonio Avenue (Kapasigan)

  • A. Mabini Street

  • Plaza Rizal Intersection

  • P. Burgos Street (San Jose)

  • Lopez Jaena Street (Bagong Katipunan)

  • Dr. Garcia Street (Sumilang)

  • R. Jabson Street (Bambang, Malinao)

To still allow traffic to keep flowing, the Pasig City government is also implementing a rerouting scheme on the date of the parade. Traffic enforcers and marshalls will then be deployed in order to carry out this measure.

One should also see the route for the Bambino parade. Here’s a map, as posted on the official PCPIO Facebook page:

So what is the Grand Bambino Parade? Well, it’s a part of the Grand Bambino Festival. The said festival is a yearly event that honors the young Jesus Christ, hence the word “Bambino” means young or baby in Spanish.

It goes without saying that this is a well-attended event. As such, one can then infer that traffic in Pasig City, apart from the vicinity of the aforementioned closed roads, will be tighter than usual.

If you have appointments in Pasig City during the said date, do take note of the closed streets listed above to avoid delays.
