Motorists traveling in and out of North Luzon can expect smoother journeys as NLEX Corporation announced that it invested P1.2-billion in technology systems for its toll roads.
NLEX Corporation has invested billions to improve its services
Part of the investment is the improvement of the toll road company’s infrastructure, toll collection system, and account management system. With these projects, motorists can complete their transactions faster at toll gates, as well as see their individual and corporate accounts easier.
To do that, equipment such as toll fare indicators, lane status indicators, traffic control gates, automatic vehicle classification devices, and loop detectors will be upgraded. The project covers toll plazas in Balintawak, Karuhatan, Paso de Blas, Meycauayan, Marilao, Bocaue, Balagtas, Tabang, Sta. Rita, Pulilan, San Simon, San Fernando, Mexico, and Angeles.
“We keep on investing in innovative solutions to make our processes more efficient and most importantly, make the experience of our motorists more pleasant and comfortable as possible,” said NLEX Corporation President and General Manager J. Luigi L. Bautista.
Various equipment will be improved
But despite the upcoming upgrades, the company is still encouraging road users to maintain sufficient balance before traversing its toll roads. By doing so, motorists can get to their destinations faster and more conveniently. They can top up through the following options: MPT DriveHub app, online reloading partners, and reloading stations.
The investment follows the upgrade works NLEX Corporation rolled out last year. These include the installation of more RFID early detection features and automatic license plate recognition (ALPR). With the latter, the company can share data with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) for the implementation of the contactless apprehension policy.
Motorists can soon expect better services
In related news, NLEX Corporation shared that it spent P2.6-billion on Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) upgrades since 2015. One of the completed projects is the repair works on the Pasig-Potrero bridge in Pampanga. This campaign is an ongoing effort of the company in providing safe and convenient toll roads.
