The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is gearing up for the upcoming 2022 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Parade of Stars, happening on December 21 in Quezon City (QC).
Quezon Memorial Circle
The parade will start at Mabuhay Rotonda at 4 p.m. and end at Quezon Memorial Circle (QMC). The event is hosted by the QC government, and will feature floats carrying the cast of the eight official movie entries of this year’s MMFF.
The MMDA expects the parade to take a minimum of two hours and 30 minutes. The agency said that it has also prepared a traffic management plan for the 2022 MMFF Parade of Stars. MMDA acting chairman Romando Artes shared that personnel of the Traffic Engineering Center, Traffic Discipline Office, and Sidewalk Clearing Operations Group are working with the local government of QC to manage traffic and to ensure the safety of the people attending the parade.
The MMFF Parade Committee in coordination with the QC government has also inspected the parade’s route.
Of note, the staging area for the floats will be along E. Rodriguez Avenue to Banawe in Quezon City. The floats are expected to be at the said location on the evening of December 20. As such, the MMDA is advising motorists to avoid the area due to the construction of the stage and float ingress.
The MMDA listed alternate routes for motorists that will be affected by the parade.
Vehicles towards EDSA/QMC:
Vehicles traveling from España Boulevard should turn right at Blumentritt Road then left at Sto. Tomas Street or Matimyas Street, right Nicanor Ramirez., left at Cordillera St, right at E. Rodriguez Sr. Avenue, left at Tomas Morato, right at Timog Ave towards East Avenue to destination.
The MMDA has listed alternate routes for the said parade
Vehicles traveling from España Boulevard may also turn right at Nicanor Ramirez, go straight towards Cordillera St., right at E. Rodriguez Sr. Ave., left at Tomas Morato, right at Timog Ave towards East Avenue to destination.
Vehicles towards Manila Area
2022 MMFF Parade of Stars alternate route
Vehicles traveling from Quezon Avenue tunnel up ramp should turn right at Biak na Bato, left at Dapitan Street, left at Lacson Avenue and right at Espana Boulevard to destination.
The parade is expected to take two hours and 30 minutes
Vehicles traveling from Quezon Avenue turn right at D Tuazon Street, then left at Sen. Mariano Cuenco to Piy Margal Street, left at Blumentritt Road, then right at España Boulevard to destination.
Vehicles towards E. Rodriguez Sr. Avenue, EDSA/QMC
Motorists are advised to take the alternate routes
Vehicles traveling from Mayon Street should turn right at Piy Margal Street, left at Blumentritt Rd. then left at Sto. Tomas Street or Matimyas Street, right at Nicanor Ramirez St., and straight towards Cordillera St. right at E. Rodriguez Sr. Ave., Left at Tomas Morato, right at Timog Ave towards East Avenue to destination.
The 48th MMFF will open in theaters nationwide from December 25, 2022 until January 7, 2023.
