Expect some build-up of traffic on these locations.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has a lot in store for the roadways of Metro Manila this month. From July 11 to 15 alone, the said agency will be working on a total of nine projects in a variety of locations within the metro.

This was posted on the MMDA’s official Facebook page, and here’s the list of the said projects as follows:

-The construction of a loading and unloading bay at EDSA Taft Avenue

-Construction of another loading and unloading bay at EDSA Roxas Boulevard

-Creation of the foundation for the footbridge at the EDSA North Avenue Busway Station

-Roofing and lighting installation at the EDSA Kaingin footbridge

-Roofing and lighting installation at the EDSA Nepa QMart footbridge

-Roofing and lighting installation at EDSA Taft

-The construction of the new Sales Road Footbridge at Lawton, East Service Road, Pasay.

-Establishment of the concrete footings for solar-powered LED streetlights along Tandang Sora to Baesa, and Tandang Sora to Mindanao Avenue.

-Construction of footings for solar-powered LED streetlights on C-5 Road, East Service Road to Commonwealth Avenue.

In connection to these projects, it can be expected that traffic will likely build up in varying intensities in the very same locations listed above. The MMDA however, has not given any notices for traffic rerouting for the said projects.

For this, we encourage folks to seek out alternate routes, but if that isn’t possible, then your patience will go a long way. Likewise, the MMDA did not provide alternate routes in connection to the projects above.

Also note that this follows the month-long, ongoing repairs for the Timog southbound flyover, which started June 25, 2022. In this particular case though, there is a need to actually reroute traffic.

The agency is also mulling over the possibility of intensifying its clearing operations to combat illegally parked vehicles.
