In partnership with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC), MMPC donated a P1-million contribution for Typhoon Odette-hit communities. Despite months having passed since the typhoon hit, the Japanese marque stated that the locals still need support so they can get back on their feet.

“MMPC would like to thank the Philippine Red Cross for giving us the opportunity to help families that were affected by Typhoon Odette. We understand the magnitude of devastation that they absorbed and Mitsubishi Motors aims to assist with their recovery,” said MMPC President and CEO Takeshi Hara.

The Japanese marque assured that its commitment to the country goes beyond providing quality car models and vehicle services. This is part of the company’s new philosophy called “Life Made Better.” Assistances including the distribution of hot meals, food, clean water, psychosocial support, multipurpose cash grants, and medicines were achieved throughout the operation.

PRC aims not only to provide immediate relief, but also to aid long-term rehabilitation to Typhoon Odette-hit communities including Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan. MMPC’s donation will also be distributed to households, particularly in Surigao Del Norte, as they move out of their temporary shelters into transitional housing. The Chairman and CEO of PRC, Senator Richard Gordon, graced the donation ceremony which was held virtually.

“I would like to thank MMPC and to Mr. Takeshi Hara for choosing Philippine Red Cross as your partner of choice in delivering much-needed relief for Typhoon Odette-hit communities. Through your generous donation, PRC will be able to strengthen and hasten relief efforts to alleviate human suffering and uplift the dignity of people,” said Senator Richard Gordon.
