Mitsubishi Motors Corporation’s Montero Sport was chosen by a jury as the best midsize SUV in Russia. In that market, the Montero Sport is known as the Pajero Sport, and it was chosen for its practicality, comfort, durability, as well as its off-road capability.

With regards to the win, Mitsubishi Russia president and chief executive officer Osamu Iwaba thanked the judges and its customers for trusting in the brand.
"We celebrate the 30th anniversary of Mitsubishi Motors in Russia this year, and all these years, we have continued improving our cars to develop an ideal SUV for Russian roads and weather conditions. Both expert jury and customers have highly recognized [the] Pajero Sport and [the] Outlander. We thank everyone who voted for these models," said Iwaba.
In the Philippines, the Mitsubishi Montero 2021 is also a popular choice for the same reasons. It can seat up to seven, and is known to be reliable and robust. Currently, it has four variants available locally, and all of them are powered by a 2.4-liter turbodiesel engine that can make up to 179 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque. It either gets an eight-speed automatic transmission, or a six-speed manual gearbox, and only the top-spec Montero Sport GT has a 4x4 drivetrain.

The prices for the Philippine-spec Montero Sport range from Php 1,568,000 to Php 2,298,000.
The Mitsubishi Outlander is also available locally. It only has one variant called the Outlander PHEV, and it is an all-wheel-drive, five-seater plug-in hybrid vehicle whose 2.4-liter engine and electric motor can produce up to 128 horsepower and 199 Nm of torque. At the moment, the Outlander PHEV carries a price of Php 2,998,000.
