At this rate, other extensions might also follow.

On its official Facebook page, the Land Transportation Office has just posted another public advisory. This pertains to another vehicle registration extension, and this time, those with plates ending with “4” (four) will now have until May 31, 2022 to renew their registrations. Of note, this is applicable on a national level.

The official announcement from LTO

For your reference, the usual registration renewal schedule for cars ending with “4” is April. Also, this registration extension is part of a string of other extensions which date back to the start of the pandemic. Also prior to this, cars with plates ending with “3” were also given until April 30, 2022 to renew.

This gives ample time for motorists to prepare, as it is understood that many were negatively affected by COVID-19. In turn, the LTO’s process of registration renewals and other services for many of its branches were changed to accommodate the new normal. Then again, the prevailing state right now allows for more branches to be able to serve the public.

But while the COVID-19 Alert status for the majority of areas in the Philippines is now at level 1, the LTO still urges people to strictly observe health and safety protocols. Also, one shouldn’t forget to wear their face masks during their visit to their nearest LTO branches. Furthermore, it is certainly a good idea to bring one’s COVID-19 vaccination card along as well.

COVID-19 has forever changed how we do things huh?

With regards to other cars with plates ending in 5, 6, 7, etc., the LTO is yet to give advisories in connection to their car registration extensions. Then again, we can expect that these will eventually be announced on the said LTO’s social media platforms, as the threat of COVID-19 is yet to be fully eradicated from the country.
