These LTO offices are operating in a 50 percent capacity

As the quarantine status has now transitioned into modified enhanced quarantine, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) has announced that its branches have resumed their operations since August 23, 2021. This includes LTO offices in the National Capital Region (NCR), Laguna, and Bataan.

Regardless of opening their doors, these LTO offices will still operate in a 50 percent capacity, in order to accommodate only half of the usual number of clients they see every day. It is, after all, still MECQ, and the agency maintains its adherence to the prevailing health and safety protocols.

Moreover, a smaller crowd entering their offices at any given time means that social distancing will be easier to implement.

On top of that, the LTO also urges everyone who is planning on visiting their facilities to follow the usual COVID-19 safety protocols. That means face masks and face shields, submission to temperature checks, filling up contract tracing forms, etc.

For those unaware, the operations of the LTO within NCR were suspended from August 6 to 20, 2021. This is due to the stricter enhanced community quarantine that was put in place in NCR during the said dates.

Moreover, the LTO previously extended the vehicle registration of cars with plate numbers ending in 6 and 7. For those ending with 6, their registrations are valid until August 31, 2021. For those ending in seven, their registrations are valid until September 30, 2021.

More recently, it has also extended the validity of registrations for those cars with plates ending with the numbers 8 and 9. For those ending in 8, theirs will be valid until October 31, 2021. For those with 9, then it will be valid until November 30, 2021.

Of note, the validity of student permits, conductor’s licenses, and driver’s licenses that expired or will expire from August 1 to September 30, 2021 was also extended until November 30, 2021. This of course includes LTO issued licenses that have expired during the length of the quarantine period.
