It was in 2021 when Salvador signed up as a Lalamove partner driver after he was encouraged by other partner drivers. He used to work as a supervisor for a small beverage shop in Metro Manila where he got to talk to partner drivers who would pick up and order and deliver supplies to the shop.

Thanks to the flexibility at Lalamove, Salvador was able to attend online classes even when he was serving his duties as a partner driver. He would turn off his Lalamove Driver app and make a stop at quiet areas to listen to his online classes.

Salvador graduated with a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology in mechanical technology at the Bataan Peninsula State University.

“Bale ang ginagawa ko, papasok po ako sa online class at minsan, tumitigil ako sa daan at maghahanap ng tahimik na lugar para makinig ako sa mga subject ko,” explained Salvador.

(I would join my online class and listen to the lectures, and sometimes I would stop accepting bookings, and pull over in quiet areas to listen to my classes)

The benefits and flexible earning opportunities at Lalamove helped Salvador finish his studies. Aside from his studies, he was able to afford his dream wedding with his long-time partner and invested a piece of land in Rizal. He later plans to convert it into a property for lease.

“Para sa mga working student na katulad ko, huwag mo ipressure yung sarili niyo kasi kung ga-graduate kayo, makaka-graduate talaga kayo. Basta focus lang lagi sa mas kailangan, iyon ang laging priority,” concluded Salvador.

(For working students like myself, all I can say is, don't put too much pressure on yourself because if you work towards your goal, you will eventually graduate. Just focus on what is important, that is your priority).

For individuals who want to make a living out of two-wheelers, they can attend the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority’s (MMDA) motorcycle riding academy. It provides theoretical and practical lectures regarding motorcycle riding. Participants who will complete the program will receive certificates.
