Jetour Ice Cream showcased at 2023 PH Electric Vehicle Summit

The Jetour Ice Cream fully-electric city car hatchback is on display at the 2023 Electric Vehicle Summit (EVS) until October 22, 2023, at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

At the event, the public will get to see this compact EV in the metal and see how it might shape up as a capable daily driver in the local setting. Those who will get the chance to see the Ice Cream for the first time may also appreciate its attractive boxy design that borders the cute and the cutting-edge. 

From just its specs on paper though, it is clear to see that this EV is designed as an ideal daily. It has 170 kilometers of range which is more than enough for a few days to travel around the streets of an urban sprawl like Metro Manila with up to four occupants.  

Thanks to its 27 horsepower and 85 Nm of instantaneous torque, Jetour says this EV can comfortably reach highway speeds. As such, it can also go beyond the city to be used for short out-of-town trips.

Keeping the Ice Cream’s 13.9 kWh lithium-ion battery topped up is also made easy as it uses its own 220-volt wall outlet. Using this device, the brand says it only takes eight hours to go from zero to 100 percent battery level. Jetour further added that it's economical to run too with an estimated Php 1.41 cost per kilometer of travel. 

On top of all that, the Jetour Ice Cream EV is priced at Php 699,000. This makes it one of the most affordable fully electric cars in the Philippine market right now. The said price likewise covers a 3-year or 100,000 km vehicle warranty, whichever comes first. For even more peace of mind for an owner, it likewise gets an eight-year or 120,000 km battery warranty, whichever comes first. 

Jetour Philippines, together with Maybank is also offering a financing promo for the Ice Cream EV in conjunction with its appearance at the 2023 EVS. It is currently available via a low-down payment offer of 15 percent, or monthly amortization for as low as Php 7,339.

Jetour Ice Cream EV

The Jetour Ice Cream is an electric-powered subcompact car. In the Philippine market, its sole variant is priced at Php 699,000.

Propelling the Ice Cream is a 20 kW motor. This is then paired with a 13.9 kWh lithium-ion battery offering 170 kilometers of range. At maximum, this powertrain can output 27 horsepower and 85 Nm of torque. 

Size-wise, this EV is 2,980mm long, 1,496mm wide, and 1,637mm in height. Its wheelbase spans 1,960mm, and it has a ground clearance of 120mm.

The Jetour Ice Cream officially does not have rivals in the Philippine market. Its price, however, is within striking range of the Suzuki S-presso, and the lower-spec models of the Toyota Wigo and Honda Brio. 

 

Jetour Ice Cream EV Launch

The Jetour Ice Cream EV was launched in March 2023 together with the Jetour X70 and the Jetour Dashing. Its sole locally available variant is then priced at Php 699,000. 

Jetour Ice Cream EV Exterior

A pair of halogen headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, and LED taillights are present on the cute and boxy exterior of the Ice Cream EV. It also gets a rear fog lamp and a set of 12-inch steel wheels.

The interior of this small EV can seat up to four. All are kept comfortable by a manual air-conditioning system. It also gets a multi-function steering wheel, a digital gauge cluster, 12-volt power outlets, and fabric-clad seats. 

Technology & Safety Features

The digital gauge cluster of the Ice Cream double functions as the car’s infotainment system. It also functions as the display for the vehicle’s rearview camera. The said headunit likewise gets Bluetooth and USB connectivity.

Keeping its occupants safe is a driver’s side airbags, anti-lock braking, tire pressure monitor, and a reverse camera. The vehicle also gets ISOFIX child seat anchors.

The Ice Cream uses a MacPherson strut front suspension and a triple-link rear suspension. Braking for this model is then handled by a front disc brake, a rear drum brake, and a hand-operated manual parking brake.
