JAC PH appoints new brand head

Astara Philippines has appointed Tonette Lee as the new Brand Head for the company’s JAC Motors Philippines brand. This is effective as of March 2024 just in time for the brand’s big debut and model launches at the upcoming 2024 Manila International Auto Show.

According to Astara PH, Lee is an experienced business leader with more than three decades of involvement in the automotive industry. In the span of her career, she was instrumental in several successful acquisitions and automotive brand launches. She also previously led marketing and sales divisions, as well as spearheading dealership development initiatives for a number of local distributors. 

With that said, the company has described Lee as having a reputation of being a “dynamic force in the automotive sector.” As such, her entry into the Astra PH family comes at an opportune time as one of its brands is once again looking to make a big splash at the upcoming MIAS and in the Philippine car market as a whole. 

“We are thrilled to welcome Tonnete to the Astara Family. Her leadership experience in various industries brings a wealth of fresh perspectives to the table, which will be vital in driving the success of JAC in the Philippines,” said Astara PH Managing Director Raoul Picello.

“Her expertise and passion for the motoring industry make her the ideal leader to spearhead the brand’s launch and take the JAC brand to greater heights,” added Picello.

JAC PH is yet to reveal what it’ll launch for the local market, but its mother company Astara PH, previously shared that it might include all-electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles. Before its acquisition by Astara PH, the JAC brand sold crossovers, pickup trucks, vans, and commercial vehicles in the Philippines. 

So if you’re curious about what the brand is launching, be reminded that the 2024 MIAS is scheduled to run from April 4 to April 7, 2024. During these dates, visitors may get to visit the booths for Astara PH’s JAC, Peugeot, GAC, and JMC brands at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
